KOS 2026 – 13th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management
The 13th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management (KOS 2026) will take place in Kos Island from 24 to 28 June 2026, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners in the field of sustainable waste management and circular economy.
The conference is organized with the support of the WtERT Greece network, hosted at National Technical University of Athens, a key academic partner within the global WtERT community.

Programme Highlights
The event will feature a comprehensive technical programme, including the presentation of cutting-edge research, policy discussions, and industry insights. The draft agenda and venue have been officially announced, and registration is now open.
Two specialized summer schools will be held on 22–23 June 2026:
- The 8th Executive Training Programme on Solid Waste Management and Circular Economy
- The 2nd LCA4WASTE Summer School, designed for PhD students and young researchers, offering hands-on training in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), including real case studies and guided exercises with leading experts.
Technical and Cultural Programme
Participants will also benefit from a rich cultural and technical experience:
- A one-day excursion in Kos, including visits to Asklepieion and the International Hippocratic Foundation of Kos
- A field visit to Nisyros Island, including the volcano and the Volcanological Museum
- Networking opportunities through the Welcome Cocktail (24 June) and Gala Dinner (25 June)
