The Global Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council (WtERT®) is an international scientific research association dedicated to advancing sustainable Waste-to-Energy and Waste-to-X solutions worldwide. WtERT® is jointly led by the Earth Engineering Center at Columbia University in New York, USA, and the College of Energy Engineering at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, ensuring strong academic leadership in research, education, and global collaboration.
Hosted at both university campuses, WtERT® brings together scientists, engineers, policymakers, and industry experts to promote the sustainable management of residual waste and the recovery of energy and materials.
The WtERT® Board is composed of distinguished scholars from leading universities that are members of its network, ensuring representation from all continents. This diverse academic leadership provides strategic direction for the organization and guides the development of its research initiatives, educational programs, and international collaborations.
