Call for Participants: 9th International Training Workshop on Waste-to-Energy
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | November 9–23, 2025
The Global Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council (WtERT®) is pleased to announce the 9th International Training Workshop on Waste-to-Energy, to be held from November 9 to 23, 2025, at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Hosted for the first time in the Middle East, this year’s workshop is organized by Zhejiang University, KACST, WtERT, ICCWTE and Zhejiang University of Technology with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China. The program welcomes participants from Saudi Arabia and other developing countries to join this capacity-building initiative aimed at advancing sustainable waste management and clean energy solutions.
Aligned with Saudi Vision 2040, which targets 90% landfill diversion, the workshop will provide participants with technical training, site visits, and expert-led discussions on modern Waste-to-Energy (WtE) technologies, methane reduction strategies, and circular economy models.
China’s experience in scaling Waste-to-Energy systems, now operating over 1,135 facilities with a combined capacity of 1.1 million tons per day will serve as a cornerstone for international knowledge exchange and collaboration.
