The Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council (WtERT) is pleased to announce that the Chair of Energy Systems at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), School of Engineering and Design, has formally joined WtERT through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Under this agreement, TUM has joined the WtERT global network and will officially host the WtERT Germany Chapter on its campus. This collaboration represents a significant step in strengthening WtERT’s international academic presence and advancing its mission to promote sustainable Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and Waste-to-X (WtX) solutions worldwide.

The partnership will focus on several key areas of collaboration, including:

  • Research in energy systems, power generation, and thermodynamic cycles
  • Development of Waste-to-X and solid-fuel conversion technologies
  • CO₂ utilization and energy storage solutions
  • Joint research publications and academic exchange of faculty members and PhD scholars across the WtERT global network

WtERT is also delighted to welcome Christopher Schifflechner, who will serve as Co-Chair of WtERT Germany and join the WtERT Council, representing the Technical University of Munich.

This partnership marks an important milestone in expanding scientific collaboration, fostering innovation, and supporting the development of solutions that contribute to global climate and sustainability goals.
